What are the types of copper

1. Classification according to the forms existing in nature:

Natural copper: copper content is more than 99%, but reserves are very few;

Copper oxide: not much;

Copper sulfide: copper content is very low, generally about 2--3%, more than 80% of the world's copper is refined from copper sulfide.

2. Classification by production process:

Copper concentrate: Ore with a high copper content selected before smelting;

Crude copper: copper concentrate smelted products, copper content in 95-98%;

Pure copper: Copper with a content of more than 99% after fire refining or electrolysis.

The pure copper of 99-99.9% can be obtained by fire smelting, and the purity of copper can reach 99.95-99.99% by electrolysis.

3, according to the main alloy composition classification:

Brass: copper-zinc alloy;

Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc, and it gets its name because of its yellow color.

Brass has good mechanical properties and wear resistance, and can be used in the manufacture of precision instruments, ship parts, gun casings and so on.

Brass sounds good when struck, so instruments such as gongs, cymbals, bells and horns are all made of brass.

Bronze: copper tin alloy, etc. (in addition to zinc and nickel, add other elements of the alloy are called bronze);

The alloy of copper and tin is called bronze, which is named because of its blue color.

Bronze generally has good corrosion resistance, wear resistance, castability and excellent mechanical properties.

Used for the manufacture of precision bearings, high pressure bearings, Marine corrosion resistant machinery parts and all kinds of plates, pipes, bars, etc.

White copper: An alloy of copper, cobalt and nickel.

White copper is an alloy of copper and nickel, its color and silver, silver shining, not easy to rust.

It is often used in the manufacture of electrical appliances, instruments and ornaments.
